I bought some Yogi Tea the other day. When I got it home I re-read the ingredients and noticed that under Other Ingredients they listed Natural Coconut Flavor and Natural Butterscotch Flavor. There was no indication of what the flavors were made from. I went to their Website and found:
Natural Flavors Natural flavors are derived from natural sources such as spices, fruit, herbs, roots, or many other plants or foods, whose significant function in food is flavoring.
Of course, this isn’t enough information to find out if the food includes gluten. I emailed the company and received a prompt reply, within couple of hours:
Dear Kathy:
Thank you for the email. There is no gluten in any of the natural flavors. Four teas contain barley malt. They are the Fasting Tea, Calming Tea, Stomach Ease Tea and the Kava Stress Relief Tea.

I hope this information will help someone else wondering about the ingredients in Yogi Tea. I like their teas.
Holy Moly Kathy
I just happened to see your post on Yogi teas and darn if I haven’t been drinking the stress relief , calming and the stomach ease teas. No wonder I keep feeling some of my symptoms. Thank you for posting!!!
I like their teas too. I’m half-way through a box of green-slim tea and just wanted to be certain. As a few days ago I carelessly glutened myself from starbucks.
Also noted, tazo teas has many a gluten variety. I’m about to go trash a box of Green Ginger as we blog.
thanks for the info.
Thank you for this posting! I love it when people who contact manufactures post what they have found. This is a great help to all of us with CD! I read this post as I was drinking a cup of Yogi Lemon ginger tea! Thanks for the information.
thank you so much! I love tea and was worried about drinking Yogi tea because I wasn’t sure which ones were gluten free
Thanks so much for your post. My husband just bought the Sweet Thai Delight Yogi tea. I too, was apprehensive about the coconut and butterscotch flavorings. I just called the 800# to verify and they were closed already. I’m so thankful for your post and to be able to enjoy this tea right away!
I read this same info/reply on another blog dated 12-10-10 which means it’s still accurate. (I too was leary of he butterscotch flavor in the Classic India Spice)
